With expected cutbacks coming on October 1st, government contractors will have to find every advantage for the government to award contracts. After the first round of government cuts and recent scrutiny on the industry, internal struggles are beginning to mount. The only thing a government contractor can rely on for future success is reputation.
Government contractors continue to shoot themselves in the foot. Breaking reports from Reuters cites that “…private contractors and special agents for the U.S. Office of Personnel Management…” committed at least 350 faulty background investigations between December 2004 and March 2012. Proper reporting and vetting requirements will become highly scrutinized in the near future.
Your government contracting firm needs to meet government requirements….at a minimum! This starts with reporting. Creating accurate and timely reports of your business operations and employees helps to prepare for a DCAA audit and provides evidence of a well-organized firm. Reporting must keep up with your business operations, which is why instant, digital reports have replaced outdated manual repots.
