    How would you like to learn something new about Microsoft Dynamics AX in about two minutes time? Just watch this short video, “Assigning Main Account Category in Microsoft Dynamics AX with Management Reporter,” and you will be able to link general ledger accounts to main account categories with ease.

    In this video, you can see how to open the Management Reporter to look at the default row definitions. In the links in the financial dimensions column, for this example, they are using “main account categories equals sales”. Opening the general ledger area page, you can see how to expand the chart of accounts section to look at the main account category. Then choose from the list to pick what you want to link the accounts to, such as “sales” and select “link main accounts”. You can choose rows, link all or unlink all. All of the accounts included with that main account category of sales can now be pulled into the report in Management Reporter. Don’t forget to update names if you change main category names.
