Microsoft Announcement at Community Summit North America

Velosio, a Microsoft technology partner specializing in Microsoft Dynamics 365, was called out as one of only four “Dynamics Migration Factory” partners in North America. The announcement came from Mike Morton, Microsoft Vice President of Dynamics 365 BC and SMB Business Apps during a keynote presentation at Dynamic Communities’ annual Community Summit North America in Orlando. The event runs October 10-13 at the Gaylord Palms Resort.

Morton stated moving forward, Dynamics 365 Business Central will be the focus of Microsoft’s investments in the SMB segment with various areas of innovation for today’s modern businesses.

Microsoft was clear that it will continue to support Dynamics GP.  In fact, they have assured the user community that they will continue to provide regulatory (tax) and security updates through 2028 as previously announced. After announcing that the October 2022 release would be the last release adding new modules or major features, Microsoft did release a new statement to the contrary, but it is clear that the lion’s share of future ERP solution development will be reserved for the Dynamics 365 family of products.

Dynamics GP/SL to Dynamics 365 Migration Factory

As a Dynamics Migration Factory Partner, Velosio provides tools and resources to ensure a successful transition for those businesses moving from Dynamics GP to Dynamics 365 Business Central.

On the Community Summit registration site, Mr. Morton says “Microsoft is excited to be attending the UG Summit and representing Dynamics Business Central, GP and SL.  We are committed to delivering the world’s best business applications for small and medium organizations and look forward to connecting with this outstanding community of users”.

Great Plains Software was first released in 1981 and acquired by Microsoft in 2001. Microsoft renamed the solution Dynamics GP.  Dynamics GP grew to be one of the most popular mid-market ERP systems available in North America with tens of thousands of clients.  The solution was developed “pre cloud” and companies still utilizing it either manage their own servers or choose to leverage a hosting partner.

Today, new ERP sales from Microsoft are almost entirely made up of Dynamics 365 Business Central and Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations.  Both are multi-tenant solutions designed to take advantage of modern cloud services like Azure, Office 365, AI and Machine Learning, and Power Platform to name a few.  The complete Dynamics 365 portfolio extends well beyond ERP with sales, marketing, field service, project operations, supply chain, manufacturing and much more.

“Velosio supports over one thousand Dynamics GP clients, and we will remain committed to supporting GP for years to come, “ said Velosio President and CEO, Joseph Longo. “We were chosen as a Migration Factory Partner for just that reason.  Our team, having upgraded hundreds of clients already, understands the traditional on-premises solutions as well as we understand Dynamics 365 cloud solutions, but most importantly we understand our responsibility to ensure our clients’ success regardless of their platform.”

    Expertise, Experience and Proven Success

Velosio supports the entire Microsoft Dynamics portfolio, Office 365 family and Azure services to deliver innovative and fresh ideas across ERP, CRM, Power Platform, business intelligence, and cloud technology that helps their clients optimize business operations and build a platform for growth. Velosio strives towards enabling clients to realize business value faster, simplifying the process of deploying technology, acquiring deeper data-driven insights, and exploring ongoing innovation to drive business forward.

Our 30-year history implementing and supporting legacy Dynamics solutions like GP, SL, NAV and AX provides our team with a unique perspective,” states Robbie Morrison, Chief Technology Officer for Velosio. “We also have an extraordinary cloud services teams capable of moving customizations to the cloud, migrating complex data and even building comprehensive technology roadmaps that simplify the digital journey.”

Velosio specializes in digital transformation and has developed multiple assessment, data migration and Dynamics product enhancements that accelerate the process for companies choosing to move to a more modern cloud solution.

We would urge any Dynamics GP or Dynamics SL clients that have concerns about the future of their solution to engage with our team,” notes Robbie.  “One thirty-minute conversation with our experts will clarify a path forward and set your mind at ease”.
