    Microsoft Power Platform (MPP)

    Microsoft Power Platform enables users and companies to analyze, act on, and automate data to digitally transform their businesses.

    Today, Microsoft Power Platform comprises four products; Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate and Power Virtual Agents.

    MPP also includes two add-ins: AI Builder and Power Pages.

    The 2023 release wave 2 contains hundreds of new features across all Power Platform applications.

    New features related to Microsoft Dataverse and Power Platform capabilities for governance, administration and pro development are included in this wave as well.

    Power BI

    User Creation Experience

    Power BI has improved the user creation experience by aligning Power BI experiences with Microsoft 365, resulting in increased web parity and by bringing the Power Query diagram view into the Power BI Desktop.

    Team Enhancements

    Enhancements to meetings and multitasking support teams’ efficiency. For companies, enabling GIT and source control integration help developers to maintain and collaborate on their BI solutions.

    Power Apps

    Copilot AI Expansion

    Power apps enhancements expand the use of Copilot AI assisted experiences which increase developer productivity, provide natural language to all users, and provide additional insights to administrators. Provisioning modern controls and rich collaborative experiences to users, as well as improved deployment and governance support, help ensure that low code development is enabled organization wide.

    Power Pages

    User Experience Advances

    Power Pages continues to make advances in the copilot maker experience to streamline site building. Managed environments include Power Pages capabilities for maker usage and onboarding.

    Enhanced Data Connections

    Connect easily to data where it exists. Low-code makers can now collaborate and detect co-presence.

    Power Automate

    Simplified New Flow Creation

    Power Automate continues to simplify building new flows by using natural language across both cloud and desktop flows, and by improving process mining to accelerate automation creation and authoring experiences.

    Work at Scale Management

    A unified activity view and deeper notifications on capabilities across the product are now supported, making it easier to manage work at scale thereby improving performance and control.

    Power Virtual Agents

    Capabilities Availability

    Multi-lingual bot support, generative answers and actions, standalone IVR and IVR integration with Dynamics 365 Customer Service and integration with the Conversational Language Understanding service are generally available in this release. Additionally, enhancing enterprise trust capabilities improves company agent effectiveness.

    Microsoft Dataverse

    Maker Experience Enhancements

    Microsoft Dataverse continues to focus on enhancing the maker experience through improving application building productivity aligned with Copilot experiences, seamless connectivity to external data sources, and enabling Copilot integration.

    AI Builder

    AI Builder now allows makers to easily process structured and unstructured documents. Using the power of GPT, responses to customer requests can be pre-generated according to company guidelines and are now available via a human validation station. This feature allows makers to easily review and enhance automatically generated content from intelligent Copilots, thereby improving both response quality and accuracy.

    Governance, Administration and Pro Development

    Governance and Administration

    Governance and administration continue to provide additional tools and insights for administrators. Managed environments provide administrators with additional controls, as well as more visibility into low code adoption activities. Power Platform admin center enhancements simplify at scale tasks management increasing productivity and control.

    Pro Development

    Pro development now offers a VS Code extension in addition to a native Visual Studio experience. The launch of the new Developer Hub simplifies onboarding for developers new to the platform and gets them up to speed and productive quickly.
