With the latest update (R7) to Microsoft Dynamics CRM came Activity Feeds, which provide real time notifications and quick sharing of information.  As a Dynamics CRM user, Activity Feeds enable you to follow and listen in on important activities that take place around the people, accounts, contacts, leads, opportunities or anything else that you care about.

You can post feed status updates manually, automatically through workflows, or to external applications through the web services API. Activity Feeds even expose Microsoft Office Lync real-time presence functionality so that you can initiate communication activities such as IM, phone calls and emails.

Activity Feeds also give the ability to Follow (and Unfollow) records to see updates related to that record appear on your Personal Wall.  There are several ways to  follow a record in CRM:

    • From the record wall
    • Bulk-follow records from an Entity Grid or Advanced Find
    • Unfollow records from your “Records Being Followed” view
    • Auto-follow using a workflow

Get step-by-step instructions on how to follow Dynamics CRM records each of these ways, here.
