    Background

A not-for-profit inmate training corporation produces over 3,000 products for businesses and state agencies.

The organization was still using Microsoft AX 2009 for financial management, and knew it was time to upgrade to a modern, cloud-based solution to add efficiency, easier access, and improved security. The cost of maintaining servers on premises was too high, and they were exposed to potential security breaches. Security is a top priority for the organization, as well as the ability to audit data trails. The not-for-profit was not happy with the incumbent Microsoft partner that they were working with for AX support and invited four total partners to bid on an upgrade.

    Velosio and AXIO Solution

The organization chose Velosio out of the four partners because of their thorough investigation, familiarity with AX2009 upgrades, implementation approach, and AXIO enhanced framework for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance. Although some of the other Microsoft partners had a solution similar to AXIO, they were not as comprehensive. AXIO includes module enhancements, embedded best practices, and intelligent automation of testing, and training. It supports reduced risk, speedier user adoption rates, and optimizes corporate performance.

Velosio implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management and integrated the system with the organization’s shipping solution to create sales orders and shipments.

Not for Profit Corporation Upgrades to Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain ManagementSystem Benefits

The not-for-profit is experiencing improved efficiency and data management in the cloud, as well as Quick ROI by eliminating on premises servers. The Cloud offers tighter security and the ability to lock user roles for inmates, and supply chain management was streamlined. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management is a big benefit to the inmates because they will gain experience with a Tier 1 Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system prior to going out into the workforce.

    Future Plans

The organization would like to roll out more integrations to its new solution, and expand Microsoft Power Platform for data storage, reporting and analytics. They also have a plan to move to Azure Data Lake Services from bring your own data (BYOD) to better leverage and report on the data.
