Microsoft has continuously improved the end user experience with each release of Dynamics 365 Business Central. The April, 2019 Dynamics 365 Business Central release is no exception. While there are countless enhancements coming this Spring, here are our top 6.
Vendor Invoice Numbers
With the April, 2019 D365 Business Central release, we will be able to view the vendor invoice number on the Purchase Invoice and Credit Memo lists. A Vendor Invoice Number column will be added to these pages.
We can NAME and SAVE our list filters! List views are given a name, such as “Items I sell,” and might include filters on totals and dimensions, filter tokens (such as %MyCustomers) to dynamically filter to the right data, and additional sorting options.
Description and Name fields character lengths will be increased from 50 to 100 characters. You’ll be see this change on master records (Customers, Vendors, Items, Contacts and Resources), Journal Descriptions, Ledger Entry Descriptions, and description fields on documents such as Sales and Purchase Orders.
The Quick entry improvement will streamline the entry of transactions by making the process as “mouse-free” as possible. The user will use the tab or enter key to navigate to required or essential fields.
Personalized Actions and Navigation
With Personalization enhancements we can reorder or hide actions on the action bar AND change what appears on the navigation pane on our role centers. This will make it easier to find tasks, lists, and cards that we use every day.
My favorite enhancement is the addition of SmartLists which will allow us to query data on list pages. SmartList’s help the user search for and find data in ways that a list view can’t.
My top 6 list only touch a few of the enhancement we get to take advantage of in April. If you have questions about these or other features coming to Dynamics 365 Business Central, send us an email.
