After releasing a mobile version of Microsoft Office for Microsoft phones last November, and following up with a version for iPhone in June, Android finally has their version of Office Mobile. This is an “…official companion to Microsoft Office” that includes the Office staples: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Documents are accessible in the cloud, on SkyDrive, which includes features meant for the small screen, such as Resume Reading, which “…takes you to the exact point in the document where you left off on your PC so you don’t waste time searching. The new Slide Navigator lets you browse through PowerPoint presentations fast while Speaker Notes help you practice on the run.”
Documents can also be edited, saved, printed, and shared from the application. While Outlook is not available in the app, you can still access and synchronize your email, calendar, and contacts when you set up an Exchange account on your Android. The Microsoft Lync 2013 app can also be downloaded for instant messaging purposes.
You can download the app from the Google Play store, but to utilize the app, “you need a qualifying Office 365 subscription, including Office 365 Home Premium or Office 365 ProPlus.” SBS Group provides Microsoft Office in the Professional & Small Business or Midsize & Enterprise packages to support your business.
