What’s the best way for a software vendor to prove that a business management solution is viable?  It’s to use it yourself.  That is exactly what Microsoft is doing.

Microsoft Corp. has long claimed that their Dynamics mid-market ERP solutions are a great fit for a two-tier ERP strategy.  They’ve backed up this assertion by creating tools that enable organizations to more easily connect systems, like their SAP – Dynamics AX Connector.

Now, they’ve taken it one step further by adopting a standard two-tier strategy internally.  Microsoft has centralized their corporate financial accounting with SAP and implemented a standard, integrated Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 solution for operational units and subsidiaries.  This two-tier solution has helped Microsoft:

    • Gain efficiency by automating processes
    • Improve manageability of people, processes, and data
    • Innovate more rapidly
